Dreaded Insomnia? Or Just a Vampire...

I have never done anything like this before, But what the hell, I am a Vampire, Not the storybook kind, but all the same, I am up way to late most nights and am considered strange by some of the "normal" people I know. No one will probably read this, but I love the "idea" of writing even if it is never read. I have a few novels inside just waiting to be written but I am my own worst critic, therefore after the first 3 pages I give up and set them aside. So I have decided that this may be the best way to write for now.

Most people would see "Vampire" in the Blog Title and would think of Count Dracula, or the Twilight series, or the Immortal Souls that roam the earth... I'm not any of those, but I sure can relate to the unusual hours that they all keep. I am a night soul, I don't know when or how it started, but here I am writing in the middle of the night, while the majority of the world sleeps.

I have, as far back as I can recall, Always been facinated with the dark. What moves when the rest of the world is still? What creatures come out when no one is looking? Is it because its Dangerous? Or Mysterious? When I was Young, I would walk back roads in mid-summer, at 3 in the morning. My mother worked the midnight shift so she never knew, I'm sure she would have blown a gasket if she had. I had pondered at some point, if it were possible that I was part Vampire, but of course I don't believe that now, although I often refer to myself as a Vampire, I don't drink blood, or sleep in a coffin, I don't melt in the daylight, and I LOVE garlic, So I would guess I don't Qualify as a true Vampire. To kill "This" vampire, all I need is Ambien. Amazing stuff- Works almost every time. But I now know it's not insomnia that keeps me up, Its the fact that I have the world sort of all to myself without interruptions, even for just a little while. and that can be quite nice!
